Tasmanian Government Funded Training: User Choice & Skills Tasmania

The Skills Tasmania and User Choice initiatives offer government-subsidised training frameworks funded by the Tasmanian and Australian Governments for employers looking to upskill their new and existing staff.

Subsidised training in TAS

Traineeships

Government funded training

Government subsidies are available to significantly reduce your training costs for both New Entrant and Existing Workers, while potential Payroll Tax Rebates helps offset your employment expenses to make staff development highly cost-effective.

Supported by the Tasmanian Government

  • New Entrant Traineeships

Are a formal training pathway used for new starters to gain practical skills and obtain a nationally recognised qualification while earning a salary.

  • Existing Worker Traineeships

A fantastic opportunity for your existing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge with a formal VET qualification through subsidised training.

  • School Based Traineeships

Any school student can be a School Based Trainee. There are no academic entry requirements, other than suitability for that vocation. They simply need a career goal and an employer who will give them a chance.
